Natural gas dropped by almost 6 percent on Wednesday, as a mild winter cuts into heating demand and a production boom pumps up supplies. Oil prices fell as the nation's supply of crude grew. Here's how energy prices traded.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange:
Benchmark crude fell by $1.37 to $100.87 per barrel.
Gasoline lost nearly a penny at $2.7633 per gallon.
Heating oil fell by 3.68 cents to $3.0646 per gallon.
Natural gas lost 16.7 cents at $2.7740 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE Futures exchange in London:
Brent crude fell $1.04 to $112.24 per barrel.
